Technology Overview

As the core original technology of Nanjing Bidun, the Interception Oil Removal Technology breaks through the limitations of traditional adsorption-based oil removal. Relying on independently developed special composite modified materials, it builds an efficient "oil-water separation barrier". Its core principle is "water permeation while oil interception" — a brand-new oil-water separation concept different from "adsorption oil removal".

It utilizes the unique HK fiber (formed by technical modification of certain fibers) to create a membrane material, namely the HK Interception Membrane, for separating hydrophobic dispersoids in water.

Working Principle

1. Formation of Water Film

When the HK Interception Membrane is immersed in water, the HK fibers in the membrane react with water, forming a uniform, dense, and stable associated water film on the fiber surface. At this point, the membrane exhibits strong oil repellency.


2. Selective Interception

When oil-containing water passes through the activated HK Interception Membrane, water molecules can displace and permeate through the water molecules in the membrane. Oil and other hydrophobic dispersoids cannot displace the associated water and are selectively intercepted.


3. Oil Separation & Recovery

Oil droplets blocked during operation remain on the outer surface of the membrane. As oil droplets accumulate, they coalesce to form larger oil droplets, which rise under buoyancy, achieving true oil-water separation.
